 The Spitfire line features the same quality construction as our other products with a more vintage tone. The Spitfire line is two products: The Spitfire (the one channel, truly vintage model) and the Spitfire II (our 2 channel version). The Spitfire I (the one channel version) is based on Diamond’s heralded clean channel. It has the controls you want and need: Volume A, Gain A, Presence, Bass, Middle, Treble, Volume B and Gain B. Our clean channel has gotten DA rave reviews from the players. It provides you full, round and rich clean tones not customary in high-gain heads with enough headroom to give you vintage/classic rock tones and everything in between. The Spitfire I also adds a switchable tone lift for a killer lead boost.  This head features DA's signature dual volume/gain design. This feature gives the player the option of having two gain settings (say for a rhythm and lead tone, or more gain for chunky heavy gain-style rhythms and less gain for more precision and clarity when playing more staccato style passages) that are accessible to him on the fly. This gives you the versatility to cover the clean, blues/Texas blues, vintage/classic rock tones as well as a few a little hotter!  The Spitfire II (the two channel version) sports the Spitfire I’s voicing in Channel 1 and a full, rich vintage higher gain Channel 2 with DA’s signature dual volume, gain design. Channel 2’s voicing is big and tight like the best of the vintage heads with an updated feel featuring plenty of lows and mids.  The Spitfires now also feature a “half-power” switch allowing the power rating to be changed from 100 to 50w with the flip of a switch. The Spitfire line also features DA's signature "low focus" switch on the rear panel. The low focus switch provides 3 positions - low, mid, high. Moving from low to high focuses the low end relative to the mids and highs as well as creates an evenness across all the strings to the high E is not overrung by the low E.  To retain versatility and functionality, all the Spitfire products have a real, correctly-designed effects loop. You do not need a foot switch; you do not have to push a button. Just plug a cable into the effects send and the loop activates. The loop is tube buffered and will not affect your tone.  The front panel features a master volume, which reads E. Return (effects return). When the loop is on, the E. Return knob acts as the amp's overall master (turn this knob up or down to increase or decrease the amps overall volume) and the volume control for each channel acts as the effects send level control. When the loop is off, each channel's volume control acts as that channel's master volume. Like all current and future Diamond Amplification products, the Spitfire features the highest quality components and construction. Every component was selected and tested for this head. The Spitfire features 12AX7 or ECC83 preamp tubes and 4 Svetlana “Winged C” EL34's for its power stage. Each part was personally spec'd and tested by us to ensure maximum performance and reliability, from the transformers to the switches and knobs.  The head sports a British tan tolex-wrapped front panel windowed for look and ventilation by perforated metal grille. The head shell is available in black or matching British tan. Even the knobs are metal for look and feel. Corner irons are included on every corner to add to the strength and stability of the box. |

SPITFIRE 4x12 CAB: Custom engineered for optimum sonic response, the Spitfire 4x12 is hand crafted from 11-ply Baltic Birch and built as rugged as the head. Sealed and resealed, these cabinets provide the tightest, clearest sound on the market with massive low end. Airspace is precision optimized to ensure the best sonic response and efficiency from the speakers.
Diamond cabinets are exclusively powered by Celestion speakers, which have set the benchmark of tone and reliability (2 of the most important things to us and you!) for decades now. The Spitfire cabinet contains 4 Celestion Vintage-30 speakers. Cabs feature a vintage style two-tone (black & tan) basket weave grille matching the head and the highest quality components, including substantially upgraded 220lb load rated casters with quick-change plates. Wired to 8 ohms. SPITFIRE 2x12 CAB: Made to the same quality as the 4x12, the 2x12 offers 2 x Celestion V30’s wired to 16 ohms. Comes with edge-lift handles and casters with quick-change plates. Vintage style two-tone (black & tan) basket weave grille.  |
